Not being able to pass arguments to Variable.expanded_value was an oversight. - Commit 516deb4 ("menuconfig: Show the selected symbol for promptless choices") makes menuconfig show the selected symbol next to promptless choices in show-all mode. This is relevant for named choices defined in multiple locations.
